I'm one of the lucky people that got to see the OP coin in person - what a great coin! I'm glad you found it. I suppose if you don't find the coin you're looking for at NYINC, you aren't trying hard enough.

I think I have lost track of what has been posted..

But here's an Agathocles of Syracuse and a sellers photo of Hieron and Poseidon with an upside down trident;):D

What a great coin, Collect. Your other big Sicilian silvers are enviable as well!

Here's a little litra from Abakainon. The town is not on your map, but it should be just around the 9 o'clock region of your Messana coin.

I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to limit my collection to stater-size silver of Magna Graecia, so posting coins of that area would include most of my collection! Not that it would be a daunting task. Since I limit myself to quality instead of quantity and am selling off many which don't fit, I have 16 Magna Graecia coins.

here's my favorite coin from sicily, no crab but it does have a nice eagle!

Scored this crab while bottom feeding. Its a good coin despite my eagle looking like a pigeon.

    Great new score, Noob ...

=> in ancient times, the eagles and pigeons lived in harmony on the shores of Akragas
