Anybody else waiting on coins to finish up that are well beyond there estimated date?
Monday i called and was told they were finalizing almost done....today I was told the same line.

    Oh well maybe next week.
Is it the holidays that have them backlogged?
    Anyone else out there waiting?

This time of year they're awash in ASE's and other Modern issues for the new year. January is a poor month for submitting. :)

January is usually bad because of the FUN Show. Be patient, they won't melt.

I agree. Holidays, FUN, Long Beach. The beginning of the year is a good time to learn patience.

I sent some coins into NGC the last week of Dec. I wanted to beat the ASE rush. The 3 GSA's were graded quickly. The other two took a few more days, but they're done as well. I submitted them in the Early Bird Tier.

I think ASE's are starting to choke the TPG's, but I also think the Tier you submitted plays a role as well. From what I've heard, overall PCGS's turn around time is usually a little slower than the others.

I regularly submit high grade scarce date double eagle coins through a high volume PCGS dealer, the last 2 came back in ~6 weeks. The current 1911 P and 1909 D were given to the dealer for submission on 11/20/2015. I haven't heard yet, but know that TPG is relatively expensive and slower than some others. I've been satisfied with past grades, and hope that future results are similar, but believe contacting will not improve service. I'll wait another couple weeks before I inquire.

My current evaluatory process of several level TPG is a multi-year program, so I don't believe that any external biasing of the normal process will alter the results

Everyone's biggest complaint with them is their turn around times often make no sense. One week you submit and get grades in 8 days the next week its 30 days. It's almost like they just randomly pick them out of a pile given the inconsistencies in time.

That said this time of year don't expect to see anything back anytime soon.

True. I've had coins come back after 6-7 work days on economy service tier. My latest was sent in Nov2015 under the higher priced Regular tier. Still waiting. Hopefully the grades will be good enough to make it all worth the wait.

It really makes no sense a lot of the times. All I could say is give them a call, but for whatever reason regular has been slower than economy for me as well the last few months.
