Hi, I was wondering if this was a die error or if it is real, I have two of the same ones next to each other. It's on the reverse side it looks like it's missing it's coating. Thanks

And I meant 1986 I'm sry typo and it won't let me edit it. But yeah thanks again

If what I'm seeing here - on the right-hand coin, and especially the reverse - is a loss of luster (looks like it should still be as shiny as the other coin, but it isn't), I would strongly suspect somebody experimented with dip (thiourea) on it, or the coin came into contact with something similar accidentally. This is exactly what an "overdipped" coin looks like.

If over dipped and the luster was removed than the coin would be considered damaged and only worth 10 cents. Plus 1986 dimes, unless graded in high mint state (MS65 & up) are mostly also still worth a dime.
