Does anyone else collect proof, slabbed ASE's? Are certain dates worth seeking for the numismatic value? Opine if you will...thanks.

I believe there are key dates if you want to collect 'em.

I have had everything Proof American Eagle graded.
Mainly because it easier for me to keep boxed.

I have them all, and have been getting them from the mint or my LCS every year since 86. I got lucky on the 95-w, I believe I paid about $90 for it in 95 because a friend of mine bought the set for the gold and didn't care much about it. I still rib on him for that one.

Aside from the 1995-W, the 1994 and the 2006 Reverse Proof are the toughest and most expensive in the set.

    And jeez, Kirk, I'm jealous.

Image those that bought the regular 4 piece gold set without the ASE for the same price.

I used to live in Uptown so I have had my fill of Mardi Gras. Besides, I quit drinking. Can't think of a worse way to stay on the wagon.:woot:

There are only two of the P that are more than the other ones
1993P which is about $70 and the 1994P which is about $145.
Now there are special proofs like the W proofs that are worth a little more. 1995W about 3-4K is the most expensive. The reverse proofs and some of the other go for a bit more W (and many were is special sets). If I am missing anything I am sure that the others on this forum will remind me.

I don't bother slabbing or buying slabbed Proof ASE's... I think they look better in the original box but the slabs do make storage easier.... now for Business Strike ASE's, I only buy slabbed.... here's a small example...
