I found this dime that looks like it has an o punched in its face. So I thought post but on the back smooth were it was struck... no detail left at all. So what do you think?

It's hard to say... that's why I am asking here... but I figure if it was post damage it would still have some detail on the back. Just stretched or something. So I was kind of leaning towards mint error.

I know what it is, too! Rick is just trying to make you use some common sense as it applies to the minting process.

This is obviously PMD. Whatever tool was used to strike the obverse caused the details on the reverse to be flattened by the force of the strike. If it had been a Mint error, there would probably be no damage on the reverse.

I agree with the "class"; some kind of PMD. I'd keep it in an "Odd and Curious" collection such as I have. Only cost you 10 cents.
