Everytime the Carr coins come up in discussion they are argued about. He continues to make them and sell them to willing buyers that hold them tightly. If you doubt me try to find the '27-D Oregon or the '64 Franklin. I finally found the latter last year, albeit pricey, the Oregon is elusive.

I stated my peace earlier in the thread, but I contend the 64-D is an issue. While never being released by the Mint, they were in fact struck. Supposedly, they were all accounted for and melted.

I do wish he would mark his fantasy strikes. He could do it so it's discrete. I own 2 of his fantasy strikes.

Help me. Where on the 65-D Peace Dollar is the logo? Not being caddy, just asking a serious question?

Oh wait I got my wires crossed. The overstrikes don't have the DC. Sorry J :)

Is there 64 or 65-D peace dollars known to exist? We known the mint struck a bunch but were they released into circulation? As far as I know, congress put a halt on the project making any US mint issued peace dollars non existent. So again, you can't make an imitation of the 64/65 peace dollar that doesn't exist. We are talking about a pattern that's over 50 years old. And unlike the 1974 aluminum cent, they were not handed out, so I'm pretty sure there isn't any to be found. MAYBE I'M WRONG about that but in my eyes the mint never issued the coin so it can not be replicated.

That is correct, no 1964 or 1965 dated Peace dollars were ever issued.
None were ever minted with a "1965" date. The US Treasury Department's final official word on the 1964-D Peace Dollars is that ALL were destroyed:

A '64-D Peace is purported to be in the LBJ library, but the library admin is hush hush about it. Edited ~ Political

Yeah, and Hoffa was supposedly buried at Giant Stadium, but the guys from Mythbusters took care of that one :D

Every few years some house or barn in Michigan will get dug up in the search for his body. Talk about a major hassle for the property owners, you have no control over the FBI coming in with backhoes and tearing down structures. Of course you are promised to be reimbursed for the destruction, but it can take years. Got a beef with someone in Michigan? Report that their residence is where Hoffa is buried.

Yes, I was reading about a couple of searches in that state in the last decade. One was under a house up north, the other was some barn nearer to where he disappeared. Like Judge Krater and Amelia Earhart they will probably never find him.
