I can't believe that no one has found any Adam's dollar errors..That's a big switch from the Washington dollar. Is the mint making these with more care?
They must have fine tuned their operation...n_sandler, did you notice whether or not the edge lettering on the Adam's dollars are both upside down and right side up?
I still think that all of the Washington errors, which were conveiniently advertised on the news networks, were a Mint Ploy to increase the intrest in them...... and it seemed to work....for now
that error is SWEET!!!!! I do think we have a member here who also found a double pressed edge lettered dollar coin. Maybe its him selling that coin? Imagine the look on ones face finding that coin while roll searching. It makes it all worth it
That's not him, but yes, he is selling a couple. One with two sets of letters (same side and direction) and another with it one way and upside down (that's a neat one). He said there were others found, but it doesn't seem like there's as many. Of course one has to add in all the "letters upsidedown" fake erros that will be listed.
Here you go... Take a look... http://coins.about.com/b/a/000113.htm http://coins.about.com/b/a/000115.htm
Last time I checked ebay, I saw about 100 auctions for Adams errors - mostly doubled edge lettering and planchet defects. Edit: Link to ebay - 159 listings, although not all of them can be considered "errors."
