Yeah prices are not like when I did my set of Walkers. Silver was under five dollars. No one was buying. That's was my only reason for not going broke buying the set piece by piece.
GTG Looks even better in hand......1882 S/S Vam 5 R-3 Morgan Picked up today at the New Market Md. Show
This was a coin I could of walked away from as I have several 1865 CU-Nickel III . But the cud,die cracks, RPD, and clashes just screamed Buy Me!!!! So I did LOL.
A pair for my type set: Until I get this in-hand, I'm doubtful the reverse makes cameo. Really liked the toning on this one.
I had a Augustus Tet. but traded it off for many coins that I will share later. Bought this as a slight upgrade to my older one. Not as worn and more of the legends show on the obverse. Plus it's issued at a earlier time period, maybe from the year Jesus was born. Augustus (27 BC-14 AD) AR Tetradrachm Syria-Antiochia ad Orontem O: KAIΣAPOΣ ΣEB_AΣTOY, Laureate head right R: ETOYΣ-ZK-NIKHΣ, Tyche seated right on rocks, palm branch in left hand, river god Orontes swimming right below, YPA monogram, IB / ANT monogram in right field Regnal Year 27 (5/4 BC), COS 12. 27mm 14.06g Prieur 51; RPC 4152; McAlee 181 Ex David Hendin, 2004 Note: The ZK breaking the reverse legend is the regnal year 27, IB is for consulship 12. Minted in what is possibly the year of the birth of Jesus Christ.
as usual with Cletis' very verbose posts, all I can say is:\ 1) huh? and 2) how did this get 3 likes?
