Is this 42/1 D dime?

    The tail of the 4 has some wear or a hit but the 2 looks like it is over a 1 and this is the D mint Merc so it wouldn't be as prominent as the Philly. Thanks for your help either way.

    It doesn't look to be the overdate. On the 42/1-d, there is doubling on the bottom of the 4, and I don't see it on your coin.

    Thanks I didn't think the 4 was right but the 2 looked like it had a 1 under it not a big deal just some junk silver I bought.

    Yeah, I see what you see. I suspect there's die chipping inside the 2, giving that appearance.
