Next week I will be in Las Vegas for vacation. Staying at Mandalay Bay, but have a car as always (visit Vegas at least once a year for the past <mumble, mumble> years), so I'm somewhat familiar with the surrounding area (often take my wife out to various bead and fabric stores). So what's good to see in the Coin and Currency World for Las Vegas. Will be there during the week, so I don't expect any shows. Rob
I love Vegas but am usually there for other reasons besides looking for coins Anyway def check out gold and silver pawn, you know the Pawn stars place. Prices are high but since I watch the show I like buying random stuff there. Depending on if I'm winning or not delicates the price of the purchase, best yet is a 1/4 platinum eagle the worse an old man round. Have fun Vegas might as well be heaven as far as I'm considered.
We've been meaning to go IN to G&S Pawn for years...just keep driving by when we see bid lines outside! Maybe this trip...
No I was actually thinking of delicates, like I delicate some money to this and some to something else. But ok dictate may work better, sorry to all you grammar ferries out there.
You definitely have to go to the gold and silver pawn shop. I hear they have the best deals on coins there... and t shirts

No one on CT from Vegas can recommend a shop? Are you not willing to give away your honeypots? : ) 3 more days... Rob
LOL - I usually go out there twice a year and have yet to stumble into a coin store on the strip. As a matter of fact I do not even recall seeing any of the silver token machines anymore. Used to always spend a couple bucks on those. Have fun.
After Action Report ***************** I went to Sahara Coins and it turned out to be just a couple of blocks from the embroidery shop my wife wanted to visit. It was nice and had a lot of coins (larger than any shop I've been to at home, which is a small sample) but they all seemed over priced to me. Bullion silver seemed particularly high, ESPECIALLY because Nevada charges sales tax on any coin or bullion that has a denomination (including Euros, Dollars, etc.). We also finally went into Gold and Silver Pawn. It was fun to visit but as expected all of their prices were high. I wanted to buy SOMETHING, so I ended up paying $30 plus tax for a 2011 Austrian Philharmonic coin. I noticed they had some slabbed "Widows Mites" and a couple of very small Roman coins. They were in NGC holders with a "Gold and Silver Pawn" label! Too overpriced for me though. Rob
I'll be in Vegas for the upcoming show. Don't know that I'll get to any coin shops as I am flying in and not renting a car. Love to go to Counts Kustoms, though, to check out his cars!!! Love to hit G&S Pawn too just to check it out. Did you see any of the stars working there or just lounging around?
This is an old thread, but I recently went to Las Vegas and just wanted to tell the community that Sahara Coin is AWESOME! Great selection, great people, and huge store! Highly recommended.
