Wish I had more time to spend here. I'm lucky to check in here for 1/2 hour or so over the course of a week. My days go non stop from 4:30 AM to 11:30 PM six days a week, and the majority of what little free time I have had lately has been applied to matters related to my father in law's recent passing. Gotta find time to complete the design for that device that will squeeze more hours in a day.
I'm 42 and semi retired. I check in during the morning coffee...its better than reading the paper.... and I check in a couple times through out the day. A couple hours straight on the weekends while I'm watching/listening to the NASCAR race on the tv.
I usually work 15-18 hours a day at the hospital, but when I have off time I multitask, operating several forums at once while also coding personal projects or organizing events and such. So its hard to say really. I might spend about an 20 minutes on a work day and an hour or two with my attention split on days off. Ruben
Ruben: You really have to ignore that other stuff and concentrate on CT more. After all, what is more important?
One of the interesting things I see on Coin Talk is how hard people work at collecting coins. For me, coin collecting is purely a pastural and while I like to know enough to not be ripped off, it boggles my mind how serous people take this. Someone searches his pennies every day to find a 1/4 of mm variation of the A and the M on a 1999 penny! I don't even like to get those pennies in change and leave them on the counter! If I was collecting as a business, I'd not be enjoying it at all. Ruben
If it is one of those days I can get to a computer, I log in. Active time is quite variable, depends on what is being discussed. No more than an hour a day.
Maybe I am one of them that works hard at collecting. I spend more time searching for coins when not working than almost anything else. I check lots of auctions and dealers looking for the right coins and I enjoy it. So I probably work harder at my mediocre collection than some with really nice collections, but I find it relaxing. I find the whole hobby relaxing. Without coin collecting I really would not need a connection to the web. I visit cointalk on average once a day to just see what is up and to follow some threads. Of course does it count if you are logged into cointalk and fall asleep? Done that a couple of times and would have been on all night.
