Sheila, they didn't have Weight Watchers back in Lincoln's day. I don't know. I think if you compared it to the billions of other Lincoln cents struck that year, you're likely to find more. Chris

I have compared it to other 1982 D pennies and none look that fat. I say it looks weird. They all have somewhat of a larger neck compared to earlier and later years, but just not that fat. Lol, you guys are hilarious!
1982 was when they started to milling the Copper Plated Zinc Cents. Maybe that area under Abe's chin has a Plating Blister? Those are common on Copper plated Cents.
