I have been trying to find all the coins I can with bears on them, and my collection has grown to a decent size. I believe I have 28 different coins here. Some of them are non-circulating coins from third-rate countries, but it was worth it for me. Feel free to add any that you have that I don't.

    Not a coin but........

Note the toning on the second pair. Each medal is toned on the opposite side from being stored in their presentation case.

Old Swiss coins such as those from Bern feature bear designs that you might like to look for. Chinese Panda coins would also be an easy option to add.

Don't forget the Bay Bridge half dollar. :) I don't have an image of mine or I'd post it here.

Giant pandas are in the bear family Ursidae, but the animals most people think of as bears are specifically those in the genus Ursus, which does not include pandas.

Giant pandas are the species which are illustrated on Chinese panda coins.

I think I've mentioned before that the Russian 50 ruble is not genuine.

Koala is actually not a bear but a marsupial. Panda however is a bear.

    Some panda:

And this is one interesting silver round issued from the Soviet era.

And a couple more 'tokens' issued by Russia.

Thanks. I have one but I'd like a few other varieties.

Yes, I am aware that the Russian coin isn't real, but it's a space filler for now. And I know the koala isn't a bear but why not throw it in?

The Greenland piece is not a coin either, but since it is a round metallic object with a denomination and a date, why not have it here ... :)

Here you have a standing bear holding a walking bear. The coin was issued in 1987, for the 750th anniversary of Berlin (or rather of a document that mentioned the settlement). In '87 Berlin was still two cities, East and West, and this 10 DM piece issued by the Federal Republic of Germany (then West G.) shows the bear from Berlin's CoA. The pattern is houses, with the Berlin Wall as a visible line in the middle. That upright bear holds the first seal, with yet another bear. The image below is a link.

Yeah don't forget the bay bridge commemorative, which is a beauty. I have a smoky XF stunner that I will never sell. Also I recently inherited the San Diego commemorative in MS65 and I believe there is a bear on that one too. You could look at old California gold private issues and probably find more bears!
