Nice little Roman

Hello all, I live in Norfolk , England and whilst out detecting last week dug this lovely Roman , what great detail and condidition

Nice find. Could you find out the name of the Emperor on the obverse. Then, where there any other coins detected ? I like to learn and see newly dug out coins.

It's a Constantine Ae4, there has been other Roman and a lot of Medieval found

This is Sol holding a globe. Usually they are considered as scarce among the Constantinian Dynasty. Do I read S T in the field?

The second is Constantine I Lugdunum mint PLC with Sol. I believe the first is a Constantinopolis commemorative but can not tell the mint. The other side will confirm the basic ID but not aid in the mint.

 

I live in Suffolk and have been very tempted to pick up the detector hobby.

 

Chances are poor you will find a hoard of 100,000 nice Roman (gold?) coins but your chance is a whole lot better than mine where detectorists find Civil War bullets and scrap metal.

 

Finding some Celtic would be OK. Or a burried hoard of gold sovereigns. I could live with those.
