1983 d doubled die penny?

    Just in bad condition, environmental damage. What makes you think it is a doubled die???

    It looks like it might have been dipped in acid. Don't forget that 1983 cents were .975 zinc with a copper outer layer which would account for the grayish color showing through the copper.
