Hello Everyone, here we go! Newbie error coin questions.

Hi, my son (12) and I have recently started collecting. I'm an error guy and he is a "whatever my grades will get me" guy. Lets get right down to business, I have a 2008 Alaska quarter it does not have the usual extra claws but rather the letters seem to touch at some points. Specifically the T & H in "THE". The E & A in the word "GREAT", The L & A in the word "LAND". The 5 in 1959 looks a little suspect also. Any info on this coin would be greatly appreciated. Hope the pics are clear enough.

All of them appear to be die chips between the letters. Small die chips are fairly common and don't add much value to the coin. You can keep them or spend them, whichever you choose.

I'm not too sure about the mark on the 5. It looks like it could be raised, so it may have been the result of a small die gouge in the recess of the number on the die. Just like the die breaks, it's not really worth much over face value.
