Was the date where the mint mark is usually? Its a decent coin of a interesting ruler. What is that just under the bird hand looks like NALW?
I have many different Ptolemy I coins on my buy list (including the elephant headdress) but it is taking a long time to find the right ones at the right price at the right time. This satrapal tetradrachm isn't as nice as I'd like but it was a case of "itching to get something of his" . I can't afford to buy high-end examples of each Ptolemy Soter so some will have to be "problem" examples. I was happy enough with the condition of this coin, which isn't in the top tier of the Ptolemy I types on the list.
A classic coin of the Discouri on horseback And a classic song: Born to be wild *Horses were the Harleys of antiquity, so it sort of fits with the coin.
As far as the coins condition, it is more than fine by me. I certainly wouldn't mind having it. Ptolemy I is on my list in several forms. I look forward to seeing more.
Wow Z-Bro => I saw that coin in the CNG auction and thought about it ... I'm glad yo scored it!! (congrats) TIF => you need to post a song when you post a coin!! (c'mon man!!)
I did, previous page. The last coin was in response to a question and is not my coin. To atone though I'll offer this awesome song: Their first album was fantastic.
Ahahaha => awesome coins & songs, gang ... Jwt => Pantera, eh? ... hey, how 'bout this sweet ol' shirt?!
Ummm, you dudes may need to turn this baby way-up ... it's a bit of a poor recording of a very cool tune!! (turn it up, live it up!!)
Uh-oh, I'm feelin' the ol' rhythm at the moment ... here are a few more sweet ol' 70's classic (gawd, we're old, eh?) => and lovin' it!! (best decade for music "ever")
In the day I preferred the Raincoats' version because I considered Palmolive the best drummer then working.
