image.jpg image.jpg Is it real? Or a contemporary counterfeit?

I'm a noob at counterfeit detection, but I can safely say this is a contemporary counterfeit. The strike is way too weak in some places, and the stars on the obverse seem really stretched.

The stars are actually able to do that as the die gets close to the end of its life. I'm going to lean towards it being real, but wait for others who really know their bust halves for a definitive answer.

    clearly authentic in my opinion.

The stretched stars are an indication of die deterioration. The obverse die was pretty much shot. I don't see anything that jumps out at me screaming "Fake!", but I'm not an expert on these things.

It's real. I'm not home or I'd tell you the Overton. They get stretched as the die wore. I'd say vf details as its scratched and likely cleaned. Why the color is strange

It's genuine. No need to worry.

The motto on the reverse was often struck weakly. They rest of the comments are correct. Obverse die nearly at the end of it's useful life. It's also scratched but over all a decent piece. VF20.

Seems real to me. I have too much respect for the skills of a counterfeiter for one to make such an error in the stars.

The stretched left-side stars are the distinguishing feature of the O-110
