1877 Seated Half question.

I have suspictions about this 1877 half. It just doesn't look right to me for some reason I can't explain. The color is off, but I have seen other seated halfs that look the same. Do you see anything wrong with this coin and what do you think the grade would be ?

Looks corroded and stained, pass on it

 

It may be a ground find.

 

I've had good and bad luck with that seller, but I'd give him credit for accurate photos. In this case, I don't think that you will be happy unless you get it for a steal. He's got either plenty of uninformed followers or shell bidding going on, so I don't think that this is going to come that cheap.

 

I'm going with environmental damage of some sort. @ldhair may be right about it being a dug coin.

 

A homely example.

 

Grade is probably F-Details, Environmental damage. As Larry mentioned, I would guess this coin came out of the dirt. While it isn't one that I would choose, it doesn't look too bad - at the right price, you could probably find someone interested in it.
