Rare British Honduras 5 Cents - 1945 and 1959

    Ok, these coins are VERY scarce or even rare in true uncirculated and thought I’d share - the first one cost a bit, LOL:

    Very nice. Usually those British empire coins from British Honduras and Jamaica and a few other places made out of whatever metal that is look like they were lost in the jungle for a few years.

    Exactly, and this brassy material loses lustre and presentation rapidly & they are usually quite dull.
    The 1959 5 cents is quite hard and IMHO more difficult than the 1958 which is also quite scarce (with regards to the later, about 15 years ago I got THREE as a lot and were in the MS 63-65 range with much original lustre). The 1959 had eluded me in such condition until the ebay auction of last week where I also secured a 1942 One cent which is more than a little difficult as well. The prices of the silver were out of this world!
    As another sidenote, the 1960 BH 25c was graded as "65" and it was not.....THe 1952 25c also was IMHO not there...

    The 1945 graded MS65 and the 1959 graded MS63.
