Here's a set I've had for quite some time now a 1 & 2 1973 proof Krugerrand set. KM # PS-89mintage 6,088 Issue price was $25.60 usd. I also had the silver + gold mint set PS-87 which was a 10 coin set including the 1 & 2 gold rands but I sold it! Why the things we do! This set of the two proofs comes in a Green leather box lined with green velvet.
Here's one of my favorite South African Rands as it's a 2002 Proof .25 oz. coin that has a mintage of only 3000. It's so hard to shoot a proof coin with all the back scatter.
Another favorite Gold .25 oz. is this one a 2001 Canadian Hologram Maple Leaf with a mintage of 15,000.
This next gold coin is another one I love it'd from Uruguay. the est mintage on this coin was 100,000 however only 14,415 were released ,and over 85,000 melted! it also has a lettered edge.
This next Proof coin from Israel is something else. Not only it's shape as well as gold color , but it's content. The 5 New Sheqalim from the Holy Land series has a mintage of only 1,935. the coin features a holy land site the Sea of Galilee map. This is another hard coin to image as you get so much reflection back from the surface.
Here's my Queen and the Lion 1997=Gibraltar. Also a pic of my Singapore Monkey 1992, but I sold the monkey last year sometime.
Watching you handle that coin with the gloves was painful, especially the parts where you rub over it. It would be much safer to just hold it with your fingers by the edge and move the coin around without actually moving your fingers across the surfaces of the coin.
I'm sorry to hear that you feel pain because of how I touched the coin in the video . However, I must say that I keep my Vreneli 35, 47 and 49 coins without any protection in a cigar box . There are over 39 million of them minted and I bought them solely for the purpose of precious metal investing. You can buy those in Switzerland just 1% over the gold spot, therefore it makes no difference whether it might get microscopic scratches by handling or not.
Did you notice that my 1930 5 Pesos and the 100 Francs coins were designed by L Bazor ? Both have that art deco look.
And that 100 franc is not a cheap coin by any means. I like his work would love to have one,or more examples of his designs.
