Maybe instead of giving it a 'like' you should hit 'best answer'. Best answer is probably something we should all focus on...........
I'm new here. I won't punch "Best Answer" until the long-time members tell me what it is. Otherwise I should skew the #'s. For example green18 (among others) should have received some from me already!
I asked before if a moderator can remove "likes." I need to loose 140 that were given to me as a GREAT joke!
Conder and Jim M are two of the most knowledgeable members here, yet they lack numbers with regard to 'likes'........We're not academics here. If we were, then those two guys would be scoring in the clouds...........
Clicking that link means all other replies will be nuked. Errm, not quite. You can read more about that feature here: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/best-answer-feature.253657/
We're social media here folks, and thus subject to the tenets of instagram, facebook, and all of those other thingos (for lack of better words). We attract the crazy and the crass, as well as the knowledgeable and worthy. Our task, as numismatists, is to separate the wheat from the chaff...........
I'm a long time member, and I have no idea what the "Best Answer" is. As Brandon pointed out, the "likes" are relatively new so if you had most of your posts before the like system was created the ratio of likes to posts is meaningless. Years ago, we had the TOTW (Thread of the Week) and everybody voted on it. Clinker took the most top spot honors but I was in second place. To me, the TOTW inspired people to write meaningful and educational articles.
