Just noticed a CGA note on eBay with the new Star notation... Have they lifted the ban or did this one sneak through?
I really don't see it being a case of it 'slipping through', or there being a 'loophole'. The seller, in NO way, references that the note has been graded. The seller, ALSO, in NO way, references that the note has been graded by 'CGA'. It's simply a case of the seller REALLY relying on his/her images to 'do the talkin'' about what the listing really IS for (and pretty 'so-so' images, at that....really 'not that great' images, but you CAN see EXACTLY what's being sold, so the seller really IS relying on the images to 'do the talkin''). Just as long as there is ABSOLUTELY NO reference made to the grading service, OR the actual grade, ANYWHERE in the title of the listing, the body of description, or in the 'item specifics' sections of the listing, the item is basically being sold as a 'raw' note. Just as long as there are ABSOLUTELY NO references made (to the grading service, OR the actual grade, anywhere in the title or the body of description, or 'item specifics'), it's the ONLY way for notes, OR coins, that are graded/slabbed by '3rd world grading services' (a TPG that is NOT approved by ebay). Unless I missed a reference somewhere in the listing (and I read through the entire listing twice), this note is perfectly listed, IMO. But....where I'm a 'coin person', I'm guessing that CGA is to notes, as NNC or NTC (2 TPG's that are really just about 'garage' or 'basement' coin graders) is to coins??
