Hello I just joined and was wondering would you have this slabbed by ANAC or it just not worth it it had been cleaned i believe at one point in its life and i think it has 4 errors would that justify grading and slabbing 1834 Overton's Series Bust half errors Nice coin had been cleaned at 1 point long ago probably a detector find who knows be a nice coin to get graded For sale make Offer if its not worth grading if you want Whats your thought thanks i have a few error coins and some from Sweden like the 1876/79 coin worth grading and a Condor Token from 1792 DH-7 Errors 1) Cracked on the 8 of 1834 2) Lettering off on the Half of O/H ALF 3) Reeded Edge 4) Die Rotation I believe I took the picture by turning it over with out turning it
I don't see any reason to have it graded unless it is a really special coin to you. If I were going to sell it, I would just sell it as is.
Thanks Larry i guess your right its not in that great of shape and being cleaned hurts a lot also I just paid too much for it last year wasn't paying attention and wound up pay $90 bucks for it i thought i was bidding on a 1806 half for my set and then realized ibid on the 34 live and learn i guess. Thanks Again i thought so
hat do you think of the Condor Token or Conder I really like those and i just got a Nice 1791 dh-35 one for 8 bucks i like those coins i wish it was easier to post pictures here
\ 1) the 'crack' is a planchet problem, poor metal mix in the preparation of the planchet. No biggies. 2) Common, misalignment of the Castaing machine. Which put the lettering on the edge of the coin. 3) these are not reeded edges, that is part of the edge design imparted by the Castaing machine. 3) Die rotatio nis not enough for a premium
I think the Nottinghamshire DH-7 is very nice. What is the edge? A 1791 DH-35 from where? When you discuss Conders you have to list the county not just the number because the numbers start over again at 1 for each county. Whatever it is since you say it is "nice" $8 was probably a bargain.
I'm afraid I don't know much at all about Conder tokens but I'd say that $8 for that piece is a great pick up.
He hasn't shown us the $8 DH-35, and he didn't tell us what he paid for the Nottinghamshire DH-7 that he dd show us.
Here's the DH-35 One if my wifi was working better Id show the others but the weather is bad here and its slow thx
The Bee Hive DH-7 I paid $28 bucks for i have about 25 of these tokens i like them for some reason theirs so many different verities out their i really like the end Of Pain series but they are high price I don't own this one yet but i came close b4 at 98 bucks Is their a Forum her for the Coins I don't want to post all mine here
You can start your own thread for those medals/tokens if you'd like, I would love to see your collection
The "End of Pain(e)" series are part of the Spence political tokens (even though Spence probably didn't make them, he was a supporter of Paine.) and are VERY popular which makes them high priced for their actual rarity. $98 for that token would have been a good deal in my opinion, even with the environmental damage. $28 for the Nott 7 is probably about right, maybe even just a touch high. I like these a lot as well (I have about 950 different varieties), just wish I gotten into them earlier when I first learned of them and they were dirt cheap. (Back then Uncs were $3 to $5 each, but the book on them was $125.) When I finally did get into the seriously in 1997 Unc were up to around $20, and proofs were around $50. Today common uncs are almost impossible to get for less than $150 to $200.
Go to the forum you want to post the new tread in. At the top right of the list of threads in that forum you should see a box labeled "Post new thread". Click on that and you should be ready to go. If you don't see the box you are probably not logged in. You have to be on the first page of the forum with the list of threads. If you are in a thread the box will not be there.
