I've seen Pacorus II without the beard, but not with that J Leno chin. That's very cool. I'm glad I learned something new tonight.

Oops. I should have gotten it right considering I've owned several steel cents in the past. Oh well, its US coins, which is now in my collecting past...ancients are the future don't you know?

I put "silver" because its generic color.
In 1975 they minted 66 aluminum pennies.
I just found this out so others might not know either.
In 1973 they made 1.5 mil and destroyed them but still handed out to government officials some 14-20 pieces. Only 5 were returned.

I'm assuming you're referring to your coin, and not the one I linked to. Given the grade of yours, not more than $100...I would think $75 - $100.

Hmm...I can assure everyone that the face is not as flush as it looks in the picture.
What makes it a low grade?

What grade is yours with the hole in it and what is it worth?

it's a little worn or weakly struck and has kind of rough surfaces (or looks that way from the pics). i thought it was cast at first, but i'm no parthian expert...BL is, so you're good. :)

By the way thank you guys for all the replies and sorry for posting about the penny in the ancient thread. I will post over there for that coin.

Chris, I see why you might suspect it to be cast...crossed my mind too, but I do think it's legit with some honest wear. I think it's a decent example of a less common type. The one I linked to - which is very well struck and has held up well (VF) - was gotten for considerably less than $100...although, of course, it is holed - and was purchased from a VCoins dealer who I know well and who always cuts me good deals.
