I apologize!! :sorry: (I am cataloging some struck coinage, and I got your coin mixed up with mine:().

Look at the date of your coin...168-159 BC. It falls in this category:
Struck Coinage: Post-Reform Issues, circa 211-82 BC

@JBGood I have 3 additional categories to describe objects minted before the aes grave (some argue that these are not coins)

Bronze Objects Found With Aes Rude and Early Bars

Early Bronze Currency of Italy: Aes Rude

    SICILY: Base Metal Issues

One of the highlights of a big show like Baltimore and better is there will be someone there with Aes Grave in stock. Once you see one, you will not be confued as to what a cast coin looks like. Don't ask to hold one. That could make you want to buy it. Many/most struck Republican bronzes are low relief and poorly made. They have interest but not much beauty. The cast ones are not detailed in one sense but they are really impressive in hand with relief higher than most coins are thick. I really wish I had bought an as when they were only one thousand (the old days).

I believe that is Vecchi 43? A triens with a weight range of 98.40-72.40 grams? What a beauty! And definitely a cast coin.

Another (and my last, I promise) coin with identity problems.
    Lucania. Paestum
    218-201 BC
Diademed head of Poseidon right, three pellets behind
Dolphin right, three dots above (value), PAIS below
    Crawford 7/2a
Lucania, Paestum Second Punic War quadrans MGA 1.jpg
Poseidon says "greek" to me in spite of the late date. I'm putting it in the MG tray!

@ancientcoin guru tells me "Paestrum had the unique privilege in Italy of being able to mint it's own bronze coins down thru the reign of Tiberius. So I think this is pure Greek, not a MG coin. Ref: Sear Greek 631, BMC 1.13".

G or MG, at least I've got it our of Roman Republic!! Thank you all!

I agree with Doug, the Aes Grave coins are impressive in hand.
Lucera was SE of Rome. It was eventually part of Republican Rome. I am not sure if this coin was before, or after the town was incorporated into the Borg. This may have been an area that was inside the Roman fence line before the 2nd Punic war that. You can find cast coins from here in the "Central Italy" list by Vecchi and in HNI.
