So many are always posting pictures of such nice coins ... well here are a few beasts that I like. I bought 5 1798 cents last weekend for about $190. These are 2, 1 (s-166) slightly less quality than these and 2(another 1798/7 s-152) are in slightly worse shape (over priced if I average per coin). The first 1798/7 S-152 - not positive about the second. If you want to try to attribute it be my guest - it looks like hair style 1, large 8, looks like style 2 letters(based off the R being closed)- currently listed as 153. Always open to suggestions. Now the challenge is to post a picture of the coin you think is a beast - and of course some beauties are always welcome. Does not have to be copper it can be anything you want. I just want to see some other coins. I am bored and this beats the heck out of doing laundry.
I prefer yours - mainly because they are coins you have in your collection. I can see plenty of beasts at ebay. Even though these coins aren't the best they will stay in my collection. Just have fun with this - I have another coin(you can decide if it is a beast, but I have a question) I am going to post in a minute.
i HAVE A COIN IN MY COLLECTION I WILL TRY TO POST TODAY AND I THINK IT WILL WIN THIS HANDS DOWN. IT IS AN 1894 LIBERTY NICKEL THAT HAS NO DETAIL AT ALL ON THE REVERSE (TOTALLY SMOOTH!!!) AND YOU CAN JUST SEE THE HEAD AND READ THE DATE ON THE OBVERSE.
Thats what I am talking about!!! Everyone is always posting really nice coins, in my opinion(including me) and yet most willl have something like these included in the collect that they just keep. I like it.
How about this one. Some one gave it to me about 10 years ago and I'm still trying to figure out the date.
OK What about this one? 1793 Lettered Edge Large Cent http://www.raykomkacoins.com/images/djp/MVC-316F.JPG http://www.raykomkacoins.com/images/djp/MVC-317F.JPG
how about this one? it's one of my favorites; not a beast, but no prize either. And if you're very observant, a special surprise!
Frank: It also has a lettered edge... I LOVE that coin! It was a gift from my brother who runs a coin shop.
Wow, complete with a lettered edge. Put it on eBay-- quick: " unlisted rarity, not in the Red Book, possibly unique. Could be worth millions, offered with no reserve. If it dosen't sell I'm donating to the Smithsonian for the $1,000,000 tax deduction!" Formerly owned by a little old lady in Pasadena."
