I got the following from ebay for about $200 dont know much about these classical coins so the question is did i make it out ok? Thanks.

thanks it helps to open my eyes. I bought them in 7 different auctions though. I just had a question that slabbing per coin cost $20 so slabbing these should have cost $140 how would the seller sel it for $150 or the coins themselves not worth much and i just ended up paying for the slabs? thanks.

 

First off, sounds like you got some very nice coins. :thumb: Now to answer your question: Sometimes when a person submits a coin for grading, it won't grade as high as they wanted. So they are stuck basically. Also, sometimes if they submit enoug coins they can get discounts, which can help, and also I think PCGS if you purchase different memberships, you can get some free grading (like 5 coins or so, not sure) So the most likely is they submitted them, didn't grade as high as they wanted, and are cutting there losses. That is my explanation. But if you like the coins, then you can never pay to much for them.

Thanks Phoenix. I am trying to get some pictures. I always wanted to collect these classic coins but they cost too much and take me away from my focus whoch is modern collection and indian coins. now that those 2 are almost complete i decide to get some of these while they are out there. I am going to add a steel cent and couple of morgans to these and then il take a break till the mint releases those gold spouse coins. If you guys see anything that should be sent back in for an upgrade please elt me know. Thanks.

Sorry to ask, but could you get a bit closer, maybe right up on the coin? Does your camera have a macro mode? That will help get closer without them getting blurry. The Morgan though looks about right, the peace probably could venture a 64, but a little tough to say without a closer pics. If you want, you can send them all to me and I can get the pics for you. lol, just joking. But by the pics, you got some very nice coins. :thumb:

yea i wanted to get one sample of each design in at least ge uncirculated condition. My camera is incapable of taking coin pictures for the most part i will post pics of 2 more coins soon

Nice looking coins and I have to agree with what so many others have said. If it was worth it to YOU then it was a good price.
If I want a coin bad enough I'll pay retail. My decision. Paid $110 for a 1927-S Standing Liberty Quarter that has obviously been whizzed. Just wanted more detail than the ones I already had so it was worth it.

As for slabbing fees if you send in a gazillion coins you can get big breaks on price. I have a bunch of "modern" PCGS PR69DCAM coins that I paid $11 each for. Probably cost $5 to slab them oriringally.
Problem is I can't give the damn things away. Oh well, live and learn.

That coin was part of the benson collection once and was sold with that pedigree I was amazed i could get one of those benson coins
