Thanks Chris. My Aunt is the easier of the two. My best friend I just can't seem to come to grips. He told his daughter that if anything should happen to him to call me and I would see to everything. But, heck, I don't even know what everything is. I'm really not an emotional kind of guy, but this has hit me hard. Sorry for bringing you guys down.

Your specialty is in coins most of us do not collect. Since there are punchmarked coins from before and after the span of Greek/Roman but to most of our eyes they are a jumble of overlapping stamps it is unlikely we will do well with a test including those selected as tricky. Like TIF, my interests fall short of including the range of all coins. I collect some Indian, but not all; some medieval, but not all and even a few modern on a first grade level. My attempt at a date test was criticized as being too specialized (all Roman) but was possible for most who read Latin/Greek letters.

What background prepares one to recognize coin 6? Few here will ever touch a medieval Indian gold or a pre-Archaic silver. The others in this set were reasonable and I regret not doing better but spent 30 seconds on it since the rules forbade cheating (using books or searching the web?).

On B there are several clues that it is Diocletian even if you can't read the legends. Relatively few used a spelled out date on a coin this size. Same with having a letter inexergue. Still, the DIOK is as clear as these get. However the entire series of AE 4dr from Alexandria come after Titus and before Constantine so there is a couple centuries of slop here.

I should point out that this image was used on my quiz page for several questions including the main one: "What number is expressed in a different manner on each of these coins?"
