The latest eBay scam..

It would be really cool if this seller could put up for auction the original laser printer from the 50's that was used to print the bar coded labels.

I asked the seller why on earth someone would arrive at Rockefeller Center with this many slabbed coins. AND he's sold 14 bags.

I haven't heard from him or her..

Those bags are sold as souvenirs at tourist shops in San Francisco.

They are probably made in China.

Those are so dumb. It's like the seller saying, "could it be this very valuable coin that I apparently know about because I'm asking could it be".

Wouldn't it seem more likely to be that valuable coin if the seller actually doesn't mention they're aware it exists??? If a seller knows about it does anyone actually believe they are going to sell it for a fraction of its worth without checking. HAAA!!

That's how you know the scammer is also dumb. Smart scammers just post the photo and make no mention of it.

 

The idea of barcodes was patented in 1949, railroads used and early form for tracking cars beginning in the early 60's. The barcode as we now it today was developed in the early 70's
