MS64 PL While it is impossible to evaluate PL from photos, the devices look very frosty so I'm guessing it is PL. As for the grade, I think it would be MS65 if not for the prominent mark on the jaw.
64 PL. mark on chin is the killer. Has anybody else read Paul's previous article about a prominent mark causing the coin to miss gem grade? This coin is an obvious example.
I'm waiting until i get the coins in hand. They just shipped from PCGS. I'll post my regular pictures and then you can compare and contrast. I will say this, there of course were surprises Edit: This coin was not really a surprise
Well should'nt you have asked BEFORE you bought it? Just wondering - usually when I put a bid on an Ancient I ask! Very wonderful people giving you advice!
While I do appreciate the advice of all of the users on the forum, if I posted every time I bid on a coin you guys would get sick of me! In the future, I'll try to do that more. I also like buying some raw coins once in a while and seeing how close I was. This was one of them. I returned a 66 based on the advice here so trust me, I'm taking full advantage of the knowledge. This one just looked real pretty I felt the grade didn't really matter too much. (Price, on the other hand, is always a concern) Edit: To be clear, I sent these coins in last Millennium , they finally arbitrarily appeared on the website, so they should be here in a day or two.
Pretty good for that 64 grade. Congrats! Lots of "field chatter", thought it would be 63 - Maybe 64 because of the nice toning? Beautiful PL coin!
