Looked on Wexler, but didn't see this one. Looks like a doubled die and even stranger it looks like part of the central statue. Maybe just a defective die. Any thoughts?
I'm not sure if you are referring to the extra metal coming off of the 1st column - but if it is then you probably are just looking at a worn or chipped die. NOT DDR - that's why you couldn't reference in Wexlers
Have you closely compared this to other cents of the same (or even just close) dates? I see (or perhaps I should say I think I do) what you're talking about, but this type of thing shows on a lot of cents, although this does appear as if it may be stronger than average, at least in the photos. Unfortunately, without better photos, you're probably not going to get much in the way of solid answers. At this point though, I would go with no.
That's just the column that is behind it that runs along the side. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/58/Lincoln-Memorial_WashingtonDC_Crop.jpg
My advice (for what it's worth) on the columns is if it is on the very inside right next to the column on either end it is probably MD. The doubled column coins are usually more in the middle of the bays and are very prominent. Look at some of the examples online.
It looks more like a blob than a doubled column. It could be a die chip, or glue. Try soaking it in pure acetone (not fingernail polish remover) for half an hour. and see if it dissolves. If it doesn't I would assume it's a die chip. It could be a plating bubble.
