Sometimes it just comes down to plain old charm. But candy, cookies and hockey tickets, gift cards etc also help.

I don't give them anything. I just visit a bunch of banks in one day and hope to get lucky.

Found these two that still have plenty of luster. Too bad there's a black spot on ol' Abe's head on the '75.

Found a few nice unc 74s like that in my last box. Nice to find when they hide in a roll. Always am looking for upgrades for the circ album. Best upgrade lately was an AU 1918 D cent. One in the album was a problem G4. Not often do I find early wheat cents AU or MS.

I haven't gotten around to getting a Lincoln cent Dansco yet. When I do, I look at all the holes to fill and think.... OH BOY. LOL.. I do have some nice Lincolns pulled from rolls or just whatever I've gotten back in change. Eventually I'll get around to putting together a book set of the best circulation finds. When I find a few of the same year that are really good, along comes another that looks even better, lol.

Some have nice even wear, and bold detail and toning to them also that I like.

I hadn't ordered any halves locally for about 2 years until last week when I ordered 4 boxes. I gave up 2 years ago after about 60 skunks in a row. I had time to look through 2 of the 4 boxes I ordered last night and was shocked to find a total of 4, 90%ers, and 9, 40%ers, plus a handful of proofs, a couple 1987P, and about 15 NIFC, some of which I needed for the booklets I'm working on. These were my best 2 boxes ever, so I am really happy!

I don't know when I'll have time to look through the other 2 boxes, but I'll report any significant finds.

LOL that's what I do. If a bank gives me a hard time buying coins, they become my depository. :)

Is that from a single teller or is that the total for the entire week from multiple banks?

Picked up $25 cents, $100 dimes, and $100 quarters yesterday:

Cents gave up 10 wheaties (40s and 50s) and 3 canadians (oldest 1955)

Dimes gave up 1 62D Roosie (the last one I needed to fill another roll of Roosies), 1 Canadian, and 1 Lithuanian (my first from that country)

Quarters - Nothing fancy but I managed to fill a few holes in my National Parks book

Just finished a box of BWR Cents. Pretty average box.

17 wheats, mostly '56's, no luster coins.
    2 X 1971-S, 1973-S, decent 2009-P log cabin.

A few 70's keepers. Plus these three beauties.

I'm still looking for the 1960 small date...

It is odd how those dates seem to wear very well.

I find that Cents seem to be higher quality prior to zinc. Nice deep impressions, heavier rims, etc. Same is true for nickels up to the die changes in the 90s. Dimes were also great in the 80s and quarters prior to statehood coins. The mint really dropped the ball when they approved lower relief dies.

Of course, new metal mixes played a part too.

Five weeks ago I picked up a couple of rolls of halves and had an amazing find:

    https://www.cointalk.com/threads/roll-searchers-post-your-results.10176/page-1583#post-2268849

Same bank yesterday and I got another roll that looked just like the others.. until I opened it! Now, I have been searching countless rolls of halves for about a year and have found a few Franlkins in all that looking. Sometimes I have wondered if and when I might ever find a Walker, never really expecting to find one. Yesterday I was stunned to find not only 2 Franklins and a Walker, but a BARBER HALF!!!

    RollFindA2.JPG

    Final count: 4 '69-D, 4 '68-D, 10 '67, 1 '66, 2 '65, 3 '64-D, 1 '64 (nice toning) 1 '49-D, 1 '49-S, 1 '39, AND a 1904 Barber! The remaining 11 were all '71 & 71-Ds, nothing later, just like the other rolls I found there last time.

I wish I knew who was cashing them in, but I think I know where:)

Over the past two months I have gone through 100 rolls each of pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. Here's a list of what I consider my good finds:

    Pennies: 1909, 1918, 1919 (2), 1929, 1937, 1944 (AU), 1945, about a dozen 1950s.

    Nickels: 1936 buffalo, 1938 Jefferson, about a dozen 1940s & 1950s.

Dimes: One 1953 silver, one 2009.

Quarters: Nothing interesting except that I was able to fill quite a few holes in my States/Nat Parks collection. Nothing pre-1965 found however.
