1954 P Cent - plancet error near rim?

    its die deterioration.. not an error..

    I'm thinking you just got a crappy coin from a worn die as in the 50's they milked the cow untill it died!! (That's a comparison - no animals were harmed in this comparison!)

    A planchet is the blank that is being struck - NO - worn die!
