I've recently taken an interest in Civil War Tokens, but have lost a ton of bids on eBay. I will admit that I broke a cardinal rule of collecting, as I didn't buy the book before I bought the coin. But the main book on CWTs (Fuld) is WAAAAY out of my price range. Have you checked your local public library? They may have it, or be able to get it on inter-library loan. Nice token. My motto is: "If you like it, and can afford it, then go for it."
Actually, you paid a fair price. For that particular cwt, in that condition, anywhere between $10-$15 would be fair. Congratulations!
Ah the love of CWT. This really is one of the most undervalued and under appreciated numismatic items.
