I've recently taken an interest in Civil War Tokens, but have lost a ton of bids on eBay. I will admit that I broke a cardinal rule of collecting, as I didn't buy the book before I bought the coin. But the main book on CWTs (Fuld) is WAAAAY out of my price range. So I just went ahead and paid what I felt was reasonable for a token I liked!

Have you checked your local public library? They may have it, or be able to get it on inter-library loan.
Nice token. My motto is: "If you like it, and can afford it, then go for it." :p

Actually, you paid a fair price.

For that particular cwt, in that condition, anywhere between $10-$15 would be fair.

    Congratulations!

Ah the love of CWT. This really is one of the most undervalued and under appreciated numismatic items.
