I would hate to call any coin ugly, but this one a family member just purchased for me might fit that bill. We'll see when I actually have it in hand s this is seller pics.

I still think it's cool, but just not as pretty as the rest of the coins in my collection...so ugly by default even though it's not really ugly?

What is that ^^^... Looks like a pie crimper or clock gear that was messed up and center punched while drunk so it didn't get its "teeth"... Kinda like a half way milled love token that didn't get its engraving I suppose lol

 

It was holed, then filled with copper.

I'm assuming it was done a long time ago as the hole area is raised up, which protected the date, but you can see evidence of wear so it may have circulated holed.
