Here are a few new toners I just picked up today. 3 Roosie's and a Merc. The Merc is a 1941-S RPM FS-501. All were snagged at 13X face.
I really like the 1959. Looks like a pretty strong coin under the patina, likely FB, and the die crack thru DIME only helps from my viewpoint.
You see exactly what I saw. It's my favorite of the lot by far. I was surprised at how nice the surfaces are under that skin. Especially when you consider everything I buy comes from a big pile of silver coins. It makes it hard to get a nice coin without a lot of hairlines.
Thanks. I think someone had a small hoard of '56-D's and sold them off. The shop had quite a few that were all very similar, I picked the ones I liked the best. I'm not sure how the '59-D was in there, it stood out from everything else. I just had to have it.
I love the two 56-Ds. Dunno if they would be market acceptable, although I see no reason that they would not, as it looks like progressive legitimate rainbow toning from album transfer. They are really beautiful toners.
