Post your best die clashed coins. The first is an 1849 Seated half dime rev. with the obv. V of Lady Liberty arm forming a V on the rev. Shows up quite nicely as the coins tone has filled in the clash . see image at red arrow.
Next is an 1862 Seated Half Dime this one is doubled and possibly tripled clashed. Notice the head of Lady Liberty that's doubled in the image. There are several images posted of this coin as just about the entire obv. image is clashed so well you can make out all of Lady liberty. And again there are several double clashes . The coin being so bright it's hard to image the doubled clash.
I paid $27 for this one, 1891o E die clash, though there is clashing through out the reverse. Something is going on with the obverse too but I think it might be more of a struck-through error. On this area of it it looks like a scratch but in hand you can tell it's a part of the clash. I have a dramatic 1861 Nova Scotia Half Cent clash where the bust of Victoria can be seen on the reverse and some of the wreath is seen on the obverse. I will try to get some good photos. Clash can barely be seen in these photos, like I said, I will try to get good photos.
How about posting full-coin photos of both sides of the Morgan. I'm guessing that any marks on the obverse are clashes, too. By the way, that mark on the reverse between the wreath and the olive branch is the bridge of Liberty's nose. Chris
I can't tell what caused the marks on the obverse. On the reverse, the marks between the arrowheads and the eagle's left wing are from the cotton bolls. Chris
Ken Potter name it the " Burning Bush " ... I could fill theses pages with all the die clash coins I have .
old thread that surfaced... but I always this was a cool Morgan clash writeup: http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compute.amazonaws.com/wiki/Clashed_dies
I believe that Mr. Forfa's die clash tool is still available through the VAMWorld site. @messydesk should be able to confirm this for you. It has been a great help to me, and I still refer to it from time to time. ~ Chris
