Here are some ideas... interestingly enough, they almost seem a tailored fit. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/help-looking-for-new-collection.271034/
Have you looked at a set of unc silver washingtons? It's a great set, fits your budget. There are some expensive keys tho
It looks like you already got some good advice on your last thread. Silver Quarters is a really good one, so are Indian Head Cents.
He had it in the wrong forum. He probably doesn't know to ask a moderator to move it here, so he posted it again to appeal to a wider group of CT members. IMHO.
If you don't mind G-VG coins that got around back in the day, you could get 2¢ pieces. It looks like you could get all of them except for the last two years for ~$20-25 each.
Yes!! i do have a few a 64 65 and 67 the 64 i have is beautiful! But i cant get a hold of any nicer ones at the moment! Thanks -Richhard
With some coin roll hunting I was able to find nearly every pre-1964 date in the series, most multiple times, including 30 or so 1964 dimes. Right now I am looking for the 1949s I recommend trying a box and seeing what you find
I've found quite a few really nice pieces just by asking about them at second hand shops/antique stores/ individuals I ask for anything from directions or time of day! Helps if you do a little "dirt fishing" too....
from your reply, it sounds like you have worked the 1c, 5c, and 10c pretty well. The 2c is fun but all will be purchased, either from a coin store, here on CT, show, auction or something like that. note: I do like hunting the coin shows, but be VERY cautions of Ebay. It is a nice looking coin, only 10 years in the series, with 8 of them in reach of your budget. Maybe time to gives quarters a run? Say what you want about state series and the value, its still a fun one. (at least I think so, (even if Wyoming really ugly) I got mine all from circulation and there are only 5 that are not UNC (P are hard to get for us west coast folks) Of course as you go back to 1964 and earlier, its all silver. That means the cost per coin goes up and rare to find one in circulation. But I like it because you can do both, circulation hunt and pick up a few nice ones through purchase. and you may want to show them to your grand-kids in about 50 years. I rather like including the US Territories too. My personal current project is a type set of all coins you can still find in circulation, That includes wheats, bufs, merc's, halves, Ikes, small dollars, and silver because they may be rare in circulation but are still there. Only one example of state quarter series for this set, my home state. One each of the MOST common year/mint mark, in very high grade. Actually doing 2 of these, one for each of the kids to inherit. Another type set that is interesting is one from each mint. That one starts getting pricey when you include the ones that are not around anymore, CC, O, plus the VERY obscure. I included 2 from Philadelphia, one pre P mark and one after they started using the P mark.
