I was looking through one of my small safes today trying to find both of my 1921 peace dollars I haven't seen in awhile - and refound this large 2 dollar bill my Grandfather gave me over 50 years ago. I do realize it is in bad shape and ready to fall apart but I collect very few paper money pieces and was wondering about any information on this and possibly a monetary value - not that I will sell this, I'm kinda like a hoarder/collector. Whatever makes it's way into my house never leaves - coins, paper money, antiques, insulators, arrowheads - YES. (No - like garbage and pizza boxes as seen on TV). I left the images on jpg files so you can click on them and see the view in larger detail. Thanks for any info!
Series 1917 $2 (Speelman/White) Fr.60 in it's current condition is worth maybe $20-$30. Being from your grandfather is where the value lies. I would keep it in a mylar currency sleeve to keep it from falling apart.
Thank you for your info - Yes - I was very close to my Grandfather. Have put it into a mylar tonight - thank you again!! The monetary worth doesn't compare to the remembrance of Steve! He always said just call me Steve! That's why I always told my daughter to just call me Mark! Pic is of the note into the mylar note holder! It really don't show up on the pic but it is! Thank you!!
