Glad you're back- and better. I just recovered from pneumonia, but it was nowhere near as serious as what you went through. Sounds scary!

Don't. Lean into it. That was a hilarious autocorrect glitch! We've all been there. :p

If we were fully rational and had our priorities straight, one of our biggest holidays would be "Celebrate Modern Medicine Day". We take it for granted, but MAN! are we lucky to have it.

Despite the flaws in the system, yes, I must agree. And back when I still had teeth to be pulled, I counted my blessings that it was a 21st century dentist or oral surgeon doing the deed, and not some barber or whoever else would’ve gotten the job in the Bad Old Days.

I don't know, man. I think about the hours I've spent cooling my heels in the waiting room for the ER, the thousands of dollars I've spent on prescription meds, the hassle of scheduling appointments... if not for modern medicine, I wouldn't have had to deal with any of that.

Because then I also wouldn't have had to deal with that one incredibly painful butt-shot of antibiotic for that one bug bite that got infected. (Man, that hurt.) The infection would've just flat taken me out, and then I wouldn't have had to worry about all the other stuff. Hey, thirty-odd years is long enough for anyone to live, right?

Ya, the system could definitely use some upgrades for sure. But the technology and capabilities would be nothing short of magical to people that lived 100+ years ago.

It's a lot more than was afforded to most of the 120-odd-billion humans that have existed on this planet. But, more is usually better!

That's rough news. I was wondering. Hoping you recover completely. Sounds like you are a fighter. Keep it up. In my prayers today.

God bless you sir, I know how it is. 5 back surgeries and still can’t get around too well. You take care and perhaps I can buy a coin from you someday.

Medicine does some things very well. I’m humming along in remission from a rare lymphoma that would have been guaranteed fatal by now five years ago. The miracle of targeted therapy drugs. $150 per month deductible but to say the least well worth it.
