In the spirit of the recent quizzes... Put these 8 coins in chronological order from most ancient to most modern. Simple right? and for those who didn't know.... Chronology (from Latin chronologia, from Ancient Greek χρόνος, chronos, "time"; and -λογία, -logia) is the science of arranging events in their order of occurrence in time. I will post the correct sequence tomorrow evening, give it your best shot!
Uh... I would post my answers, but I fear I'd embarrass myself. I know it's Greek before Roman before English. I don't know eastern coins well enough to work out where they fit in this chronology.
Like Greg, I'm unsure about the 'eastern' but too old to care much about being 'embarrassed' LOL... So, I pick: 7, 2, 3, 4, 6, 3, 5, 8, 1, 4
It is a TRAP... Since The Master Noobster placed the coins in the TRAY in an order, logic dictates he placed coin number 1 first, coin number 2 second, and so forth. Ergo, the chronological order is 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8... Actually, since I am just beginning to capture ancient Eastern coins, I am still learning. Therefore, I recuse myself from answering.
7 3 2 5 6 1 4 8 I did my order and then went back to see if it had been posted. I differed from chrsmat71 only in swapping 1 and 6 and have no basis for my order there. If I'm not right, I hope he is but a couple others there could be anywhere as far as I know.
Its really interesting who decided to venture a guess and who is close and who is off by a mile. I will be posting the correct sequence later on this afternoon. Great efforts by all, and thank you. Please keep them coming.
