Gotta be politically correct these days. But reading through his history, it certainly does sound like he was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia.

I don't collect these coins - this one was just "there" and apparently not getting any love. So are any of you in the know about these coins? Is this something special, or is it meh - just another one of those stupid guénars?

You don't have to be politically correct. I make jokes about Cubans 24/7, and will certainly laugh at any good Cuban jokes anyone else tells me.

    Anyway, nice coin.

Yeah, you can do that because you're Cuban. I'm pretty sure I'd be in trouble if I walked into a room full of Cubans and started telling Cuban jokes.

Then you clearly don't know Cubans my friend. We love to tell jokes at our own expense, make jokes at others' expenses, and hear others tell good jokes about us.
That whole sense of hyper sensitivity that Americans have does not exist where I came from.

Yeah, it's the same way in many European circles. We have indeed become overly sensitive in the US.

    i like it!

i'm not familiar with the type, but it's nice and big...and seems to be in good shape for medieval coins in general.

for a while some medieval guys here posting some stuff, but that seems to have died down a bit. hopefully someone swings by and takes a look.

Blanc guenar are what they are, hard to find well struck and well preserved, yet interesting. That one is pretty nice. I don't own any coin of his but have an ecu d'or minted for his son Charles VII

    Great addition, JA ...

I love the medieval sweeties (ummm, I'm assuming that it's French, since Q swooped-in) ... is this coin in the same vicinity of my sweet Lorraine examples?

    o_O

Oh, and I'm using that emoticon as the "ummm, I'm asking a question"

yah, somebody was having problems understanding what they meant, so I figured that I'd better start occasionally explaining my emoticon-faces?!

    ;)

oh, and that was supposed to be a wink ... you know, like "eh-heh-heh, know what I mean?"

Ya, it's french, but royal, while your sweet Lorraine examples are feudal, as my sweet Dombes are
