I was not very pleased with the condition of these coins....I think they look better than the Washington dollars, but the 100 that i got were in really bad shape...it looks like jack the ripper got to the coins before I did....

I didnt even look at mine. I get the rolls from the bank and put them in a safe place and thats where they stay...unopened. Although I have been tempted to open one of my GW rolls.

What?? Did you find a no-edge lettering one!? if you did, throw it on Ebay just as fast as you can...or get it certified first, and you're in the money ;p

I'm hoping to find a godless one in my five boxes on Saturday;p Or a lettered-edge blank...that would be nice....

Heck, I won't be picky - I want one that doesn't look like a lawnmower ran over it.

I cant believe those braindead dealers on Ebay are still trying to pass off "Upside down lettering" dollars as errors and people are actually bidding on these!! First it was George W. and now John Adams. I can see this going on throughout the entire series.

Some people might be collecting the "upside down" edge ones as a variety. Whatever floats their boat, as long as it doesn't sink mine. :)

You missed the point. They are being advertised as "errors" and are being bought as "errors", which they are not.

Bigger problem in my opinion is that most people don't know the difference between an error and a variety. That's part of the reason why such sellers can get away with what they do.

Up here in Alaska, I got another 3-4 weeks to wait before we get our Adams Dollars according to my bank... :( And then its a 1 roll per customer until it is no longer in demand... Sometimes being out in the middle of nowhere really hurts!

My bank said two more weeks. ANd BTW I say a seller on eBay selling an offcenter strike. You would have to have an electronic micrometer to figure it out!!! and it went for $10!!!

Thats so true Doug. Thanks for pointing that out. Alot of people, especially on Ebay, spend way too much on coins that are overstressed as being a "rare error" whether its upside down lettering, faintly off-center or slightly discolored, plus whatever else some scamming Ebay sellers can dream up as, in their opinion, are errors.

how could you not open the rolls? you may have a 'rare' error all wrapped up in there! LOL

Believe me, its ran through my mind more times than enough. But in reality, I guess the unopened rolls will always be worth alot less than any "godless" dollar that could possibly be found inside one of them.
