"key date" for non-key dates. I could probably go to the indian cents, put "key date" in the search and have at least 1 auction for every date in the series.

Technically this is not a "line", but it is the pictures that get me. It is hard enough deciphering the eBay size pictures, but when the lister insists on showing me the 2X2 holder......... For cents, that means that the coin occupies 14% of the available space and that is assuming that there is no border around the 2X2 and that the picture is square and not the normal 6X4 ratio. I am buying the coin, not the holder.

Others insist that there be at least a 2 coin space between coins in a multiple coin picture. WHY?
I want to see the coin - not the spaces.

I like those pics up close and personal, although I was able to cherry pick a 1907 barber dime ms-60 with an old cleaning for $27 because of a blurry small picture, a gamble that paid off

Don't you love how so many sellers on Ebay list the condiiton of their heavily worn/damaged coin as "About Good"? AG-3 means worn a little more than G-4. It doesn't mean a dateless, corroded POS. And it doesn't mean "cull". I guess some sellers just assume that since the lowest grade listed for values in The Red Book is AG-3 that that must be what their coin is.

I like ''trends''. Uh huh. A 1932s quarter does trend in the $6000 range. But you aint getting that one.

What I love are "A five pound bag of unsearched S mintmark wheats from the San Fransisco mint. They are guareenteed unsearched" Another bunch of, well, you know. :D I heard that of one of the TV shows, but have also read it on ebay. MAkes me wonder, how do they know they are all S mints? Makes you wonder if they are all just a tad :goofer: .

    Crappy Quarters

This is kind of unrelated but not totally.

Years ago I bought a roll of "avarage circulated" Standing Liberty and Barber quarters "dutch auction" style on ebay. Hey, I was a newbie.

Got the quarters and saw that "average circulated" meant a lot of these coins had initials scratched into them. Well, I was new so I took the loss.

After about a year of looking at this junk I decided to sell them. Listed them as "Crappy Quarters".
I basically sold them as junk silver. No great claims - told the potential bidders why I was selling them.

Actually ended up making my money back and it was one of the highest viewed auctions I've ever run.

Don't plan on doing it again though but it was interesting.

I would like a translation of that. And it even sold for $22.49! My guess is that it is XF, but I can not tel for sure. It also qualifies for my small picture category. If you want to take a look - - H E R E - - -

Yeah, it is. If someone had printed "Unicorn eggs" on a slab, that doesn't mean it would be excusable to sell them as if it were true.

How tiny is your monitor for Pete's sake?

On my 15" the diameter of the cent in the enlarged picture is 4-3/8".

I do not know what I am missing, but that is a whole 3/4' on my 19" monitor and it is not clickable. What are you seeing?

I don't know what to say. I clicked on the "here" link in rlm's cents' post and went to an EBay site, where I clicked on the "View Larger Image" link below the picture of a cent, and got a large picture.

When I tried it again after the last two posts, clicking on the "Larger" link did absolutely nothing. I'll have to call my 5-year-old granddaughter in Virginia and have her check out the situation, 'cause I don't understand it. [IMG]

"These roles may have ERRORS!!!! BID WITH CONFIDENCE!!!!"

I would like to know - confidence in what - That I am sure to get ripped off?

This was taken from an ebay listing rolls of Adam's with possible smooth edges.

Just boggles my mind that people list these this way then have the nerve to say bid with confidence.

    Yep, that's pathetic.

Think I'll list some Cent rolls that MAY have reeded edges!

BID WITH CONFIDENCE - I NEED GAS MONEY!
