As we all know the 2007 W mint ASE's are coming out in a couple of weeks. I think I'll buy some but first I have some questions. What do you think these will be worth in a few months compared to the 2006's. Will it be enough of an increase to buy 5? Also if you do speculate that they will go up a bit, will it be worth it to send them off to get graded?
i dont think 2007 will climb as high as 2006... one of the biggest reasons is that alot more people will buy the 2007's then bought the 2006's. So, i would not recommend sending any to be graded right of - but i also dont think the 2007 prices will soar .... My opinions of course
I agree with what Daggerjon say's....it will be the second coin and everyone is waiting for it....I think it will be just a coin in the series..nothing more! You all know how I love eagles so it's hard to say this. The 2006 caught everyone by surprise. The only way to beat it is for the mint to start and stop production the first week or two. RickieB
I guess I'll buy two to go with the two 2006w I bought. I don't expect a repeat now that everyone is alert to the possibility.
well you see, I don't care for them as a collectors coin. But I could use money, and if it seems they will go up, even 2x, I would like to resell some.
what mkes ya think they will go up? (limited mintage?) Are these from the mint of from dealers bu or proof?) thanks
If you get one from the mint by subscription each year you're covered. I got mu 2006W last year that way. Nice surprise. You could always buy more if you care to, later.
If anyone could garantee a 100% price increase (in anything, not even coins!) , everyone would jump on it. This coin has a mintage to demand... so instead of jumping in on the secondary market, which creates the price rise, people will just buy it from the mint...
OK then, I won't get one. Any recomendations on other mint prodcuts? WOuld it be wise to purchase 5 presidential proof sets?
I'll pick up about 10. Tell the wife they make great gifts then hopes she doesn't remember I got them.
I wouldn't be surprised to see an echo effect by those wishing not to miss out on what they missed out on in 2006. I'm sure the mint will take advantage and make up an extra large batch of 'em.
well i think the mint is expecting a large turnout for the 2007W ASE. so i think they are allready prepared to sell alot more then last year. I will only get one to fit in my collection. I will look to other products to invest on, including the presidential silver set possibly. i cannot get the 1st spouse gold coins, i just wish they had done a silver batch of them. so that leaves the prex silver set along with the yearly products and sets. I knwo the mint has some surprise sets coming that are nto the usuals, so i got those panned out too .. well as much as one can plan when theyare surprises
I'm not telling you not to buy any, but buying coins for profit is a huge gamble, especially short term. Just be cautious and ask questions before you buy.
2007 W ASE burnished Howdy all, Unlike 2006, everyone is aware of and planning to buy the 2007W. And the mint looks to be planning to mint more. Therefore I really don't see it being the 5x homerun as the 2006W. I just subscribed for 5 of them which gives me one, one for both grandkids and 2 for shrieks. I think the first lady set will skyrocket, but I can't afford it. That said, I still think there will be many opportunities this year to buy something from the mint that will be a 3x play. just my thoughts, rono
I think plain old proof set and SMS are great investments. I'd buy 10 of each every year if I were into buying for investment purposes. Look at some of the sets in the past ten years and how much they've soared in value. Not all of course but at least they've held their original value.
