I have a 1958D with a similar die chip. But, @paddyman98, I only have the close up and not the entire coin in my photo file.

The ‘50s were notorious for running die sets well past their prime. While still errors, regular wear-and-tear errors are so common that they are a few steps down from some others.
With over 420 million produced, there is bound to be worn dies that should have been taken out of service, but weren't. That is a fun IDB and a keeper, in my book
