Everyone has already given you lots of great advice, so I probably won't have much to add. But you have definitely received quite an impressive load there. I even saw some gold mentioned. Do you know if your grandma collected? Or someone in your family? Do you have any idea where this windfall came from or who collected it? Many of my favorite coins I have came from relatives, some now sadly deceased. Some of the coins are worn and valueless, but their sentimental value tops everything. I have many of my lesser grade coins in coin tubes just to minimize jostling, but anything XF or above I try to get into air-tites or at least flips. Air-tites can run $1.50 each, so they involve some cost, but they will keep coins relatively safe. Plus, since they're round, they still feel like holding the actual coin. Have fun!
I think she bought a few coins in the past but most are from deceased family members. Thanks for your advice
