trying to figure this out I have a 1946 penny that looks like part of the word states is coming through to the from from the back, it all lines up.... what do you guys think or have you seen anything like this and what would it be worth.
I don't believe it lines up perfectly. Looks like a "vice job" to me. (Someone getting creative with their tools ;-)
Somebody stamped something into the coin obverse - thus showing as raised into the revers! Coin errors are most time raised on the coin surface as a fews Lincoln cent pics from die cracks
it's obviously a lamination error, you can see the continuation of the lamination cracks and the ragged edge where the piece broke off...
I'm thinking like you two . But I'm also thinking PMD . Otherwise know as, " Need Better Images " ..... I can't make it out with my eye glass on
