I came across this penny with some serious edging any thought on this coin date error?

I am not an expert, but from what I can see it does not look like a DD to me.

There are specific markers for this year doubled die including die gouges and die scratches which are not showing in this photo. Suggest you go to doubleddie.com and check for these markers after taking a closer look at your coin to determine if it really is a DD. There are photos there for this one.

True. But those are for longer and double words. Brilliant Uncirculated and Almost Uncirculated. Cent is a very short word. Ct could stand for CoinTalk

 

Poindexterxxx, you've been getting rough criticisms. The concession seems to be that it is not a DD, but Collecting Nut is stretching it when your CT is dismissed as having a normal edge. At least an out-of-focus In God We Trust is not normal. Your various photographs indicate your camera is able to focus well: but are you working at very short focal length? Can you get a better focus for the motto? Triangulation dos not do the trick, but it does show you are well manicured.

When you've looked at as many pennies as most of us on CT have, it's common. No stretching the truth here.
